I listened to this on the flight back from London. Haunting. Soothing. So I thought I’d check her out when I got back.

She’s just 15.

I had no idea judging from the photo of her album cover, and certainly not from her music. Her real name is Jasmine van der Bogaerde. She learned to play the piano at 5 and began writing at 8. At 12 she won Open Mic UK. At 14 she had a hit with a cover of Bon Iver’s Skinny Love. It’s in her genes. Her mother is a concert pianist and her great uncle was Sir Dirk Bogarde.
